POSITION SUMMARY
The Import Operations Analyst is responsible for aiding in achieving the stated goals that are in line with company policies and stablished procedures including but not limited to, Customs filing entries into US.
The import Operations Analyst is responsible to coordinate and ensure the expeditious delivery of all Import, Air and Sea consignments to Internal customers at prescribed quality standards using independent judgement and discretion to increase efficiency on each shipment.
This role is 100% in office.
Coordination Operations of Imports and Custom Entries Departments:
- Monitor workflows and management of resources to ensure and verify timely and accurate accomplishment of operational processes.
- Process Customs entries filings timely and correctly.
- Process all ISF filings timely and correctly.
- Speedy delivery of cargo as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all USA Customs and other governing bodies.
- Ensure support documentation is available and correct.
- Oversee pick up the containers on behalf of the client/agent as required.
- Ensure registration of shipments in the Company System.
- Report to customs when relevant.
- Trace orders and ensure that information affecting arrival and dispatch is communicated internally & externally.
- React in a timely manner when reviewing discrepancies and keeps record of discrepancies via GTM System.
Financial and Accounting Outcomes:
- Invoicing and collection of Customs Brokerage, agency, and disbursements from suppliers.
- Support accounting issues related to forwarding cost, payments, Import Duties, Fees and Charges, etc.
- Monitor Ocean Freight costs, demurrage fees, other fees, and total delivery time.
- Support Process payments for ocean freight, duties, and other expenses related to customs brokerage activities.
- Supply support documentation and information to accounts on payments.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years minimum operational experience in preparing, filing, and auditing custom entries and ISFs.
- 1-3 years minimum experience in filing and reporting of Lacey Act, ADD/CVD, TSCA and other PGAs.
- 1-3 years minimum experience in coordinating with ports and terminal operations.
- High school graduate, some college preferred.
- Experience with GTM- Global Trade Manager a plus but not required.
- Attention to detail and highly motivated.
- Licensed Custom Broker is a plus.
WORK HOURS
8AM - 5PM, Monday – Friday. 100% in office.
Expected travel away from home site/location: less than 10%
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical office environment, though this person is expected to occasionally be on and work in the manufacturing floor/environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
This is a full-time exempt position with occasional weekend work.
